I can’t think of a time in life when I didn’t hunt or fish. I started fishing with my Dad when I was 3, and tagging along rabbit hunting with my Grandpa well before I could carry a gun. I shot my first rabbit when I was 12, while hunting with my Grandpa, and my first deer at 15. I always had an interest in waterfowling, but no one I knew waterfowl hunted until I met my Father In-law. My Father In-Law introduced me to fowlin` when I was 22, and that’s the year I shot my first goose. It’s been an exciting adventure ever since. I think waterfowling is the most exciting type of hunting. Foolin em into the dekes is a straight up blast. Through the years, hunting and fishing with my Dad, and Grandpa has instilled a great sense of respect for all of God’s creation. I think the most important thing for hunters today is to show respect for the wildlife, the properties we hunt (public and private), and towards non-hunters. Our attitudes and actions while representing the “Camo Fraternity” will dictate the future of hunting in the U.S.A. The two regrets I have is that I didn’t start duck and goose hunting waaaay earlier in life, and that I didn’t discover Quacker Attacker calls waaaay earlier! My goose and duck calling sure has changed since I first went to Todd’s shop and he set me up with my first good goose call, the Warrior. Curt also took the time to show me the ropes of duck calling. Man, has all that paid off! Good calls, and practicing a lot has really led to more birds on the ground. I’ve since expanded my Quacker Attacker goose and duck call arsenal. Todd and Curt are always a great resource with their new and current calls. With the large selection of call materials, and custom shaved reeds, there’s sure to be a call to fit your style and skill level. So next time you need a new duck or goose call, do yourself a favor, get a Quacker Attacker Championship call, and get ready to watch em fall.
GOD bless, and good hunting,
Brian Grunst.
