Home town: Zeeland Michigan
Occupation: Service writer - Pro Motors Service Inc. Also Team Fowl Assassins

Family: Dave-father, Rhonda-mother, Andrea-sister, and Lydia-sister

Outdoor hobbies: During spring I spend a lot of time maintaining 125 wood duck boxes with my Dad. We are licensed through the DNR to band wood ducks, and we also band geese with the DNR every year.
Late summer time is spent scouting for early season geese, and also for the up coming duck season. Finally when fall arrives, I spend at least 3 times per week hunting waterfowl. I have a 16' foot jon boat with a fast grass blind, and we do a lot of late fall diver hunting out of it. I enjoy every part of water fowling from scouting the birds, to shooting them in the lips when they lock in the decoys:-) I spend every day I can in the field or the marsh hunting. I started Team Fowl Assassins about 3 years ago, which includes a small group of guys that share the same goal as myself.
I've used Quacker Attacker calls for about 5 years now. I started with a green & hedge timber call and was very impressed with how it blew. Since then I've been using 4 different calls from Quacker Attacker, and I will never blow any other kind. The versatility of the calls, the choices of what fits you right, and the great customer service have me hooked! So until I can't breathe I'll always be hunting, and I'll always be blowing Quacker Attacker Championship calls!
Good hunting!

Name: Kenny Shelton A.K.A. "sprout".
Home Town: Hamilton Michigan
Age: 20
When I was 3 years old my dad started bringing me with him duck and goose hunting. By the time I was 10 I had shot my first duck in Arkansas. We continued traveling across the country, hunting frequently with stops in Iowa, Arkansas and my favorite Texas. ( as you can see from the picture) I have known Todd for at least 12 years. I first met Todd at the "zoo" a hunting cabin up river from Todd's house trap shooting with my dad Randy. Between my dad, Todd, friends and hunting partners, they have taught me the importance of conservation and hunting tips and shooting techniques. In 2001, I earned 2 ATA state championships. 1 in singles and 1 from my handicap yardage. From there I went on to the JR. Olympics in Colorado and placed 30th out of 80 competitors. In 2002 I shot on a team and we placed first in the state and 9th in the nation at the Grand American shoot in Vandalia Oh. In 2003 our team placed 2nd at state and 10th at the Grand. I have continued shooting competitively taking many 1st, 2nds and 3rds. It goes without saying, that I've been using Quacker Attacker Championship Custom Calls as long as I can remember. I truly believe Smoke makes the best calls. When Todd asked me to be part of the Quacker Attacker field staff I was honored. With that said I'd like to thank him again for allowing me to be part of the staff.
Thanks

Name: Mark “Windy” Windemuller
Home town: Hamilton Michigan
Mark along with his wife Lisa, and their children Samantha (10), Bradley (4) and Ryan (1) live in Hamilton, MI. Mark sums it up like this; “God has blessed me with a wonderful wife, healthy kids, and a love for the outdoors; could it get any better?”
Mark began hunting at the age of 12, chasing squirrels in the woods, rabbits in the briar patch, and jump shooting ducks off ponds. “My dad taught me a lot about the outdoors. He was unable to physically get out there due to Parkinson’s disease – but always had a story to tell. These stories usually cultured my next crazy undertaking.” Impressed by his dads childhood stories and antics he pursued many of the same adventures; trapping, predator hunting, raising wild birds, you name it – most of the time with little success but always enjoying himself and learning more about the outdoors.
In 1993 Mark met Todd through a mutual friend Curt Mepplink; Todd set him up with a single reed hedge duck call and a hedge flute call. Mark has purchased many calls since, most recently the Quacker Attacker line of Short Reed Goose calls.
When asked about Quacker Attacker quality and service, Mark replied, “There are lots of duck and goose calls on the market, but, I have yet to find one that has this level of performance, backed with exceptional personal service. I am proud to have them on my lanyard.”
Thanks

Name: Rod "Rowdy" Hirdes
Hometown: Borculo Michigan
Age 31
My Name is Rod Hirdes AKA "Rowdy" I have been hunting waterfowl since the age of 15. I first met Todd at his call shop in Hamilton Mi. where he manufactures his Quacker Attacker line of Championship Custom duck and goose calls, along with other fine waterfowl hunting products. After buying my first shortreed goose call is when I really improved my ability to call ducks and geese. Todd showed me the proper calling techniques and when and where to use them. Since then I have made significant improvements in the ability to read and call birds. I have concentrated on improving my ability to set a proper spread of decoys and how to read birds and when and when not to call. Through Todd I met Curt Meppelink who is a Pro Staff member for Todd and Team Quacker Attacker. Through the years I have never called in any contests, because my judges are the birds I call in, and their all dead! Since I've become acquainted with Todd my success ratio has gone up tremendously. At a local managed waterfowl refuge myself and 5 friends drew 121 out of 160 parties, we were still able to kill 6 birds in 8 minutes. While it doesn’t always happen that easy it’s nice when it all comes together. I am on the board of the North Ottawa Toms a local chapter of NWTF. I have been an amateur bass fisherman for 10 years and am now sponsored by Patriot Custom Rods, Snack Daddy lures and Borculo Bait and Tackle. My partner and I finished the 2005 season in 19th place out of approximately 100 teams our best finish thus far. I am so honored to be a part of the Quacker Attacker Field Staff. With out Todd and Curt’s guidance I feel I would not have the calling and hunting skills I have today.

Cody "Codeman" Anderson
Age: 14
Home Town: Hudsonville, MI
I live in Hudsonville Michigan and I have been blowing Smoke's calls for a while now. I have used them to hunt as well as on the contest stage and in my opinion they are the best calls out there. Smoke has helped me with my calling and has given me many things that I am happy with.
For example at this years 2008 Great lakes Open Calling Contest Smoke said that I should switch from the Natural Born Killer to an actual contest call, and gave me a call to use in the contest. After only 1 ˝ hours of practicing with it, it helped me to achieve a 3rd place finish out of 22 callers. I am very proud to say that I am part of Quacker Attacker Championship calls!
Smoke has also given me some hunting strategies like, for example at the Todd farm. He helped us choose a spot near someone that would help us kill our birds, and it did help us out, a lot! So I just want to say thank you to Smoke for all you have done for me!
I can just not say enough about you Smoke!
Cody Anderson

I am proud to have Cody as part of the staff here. Cody is exactly what we look for in a person to be a part of our Team. He is a humble, quiet spoken young man that has integrity. He is also a great goose caller! Welcome aboard Codeman!

Name: Andy Maatman
Age: 36
Hometown: Hamilton Mi.
I am married to Christie and have 2 boys, Cody, 9 and Dylan, 5. I have been hunting since my dad gave me my first BB gun when I was 8. I started hunting squirrels and worked my way up to Whitetail deer by the time I was 15. That was also about the time I started to go to "deer camp". I was into deer hunting pretty heavey until I started a new job, and met Kenny Shelton aka Sprout. He started telling me stories about hunting waterfowl and how much fun it was. So I told him i'd like to come along with him and learn it the right way. My first adventure was to a local refuge in my area. I went with Sprout and Bean aka Kyle and it was there that I met Rod aka Rowdy. What a day, we had we had a blast!
So I guess you're wondering where does Todd come into the picture. Well, I heard these guy's calling and watched the birds working and said "WOW"! So I asked Sprout where he got his calls and where he learned how to blow them like that? He set me up with Smoke. And thanks to Smoke and help from the boys, I went from shooting at geese to "pilein em up" And now I'm not Andy anymore i'm Romeo?. I know from the outside looking in, that if you want to be the best you can be there is only one way - Quacker Attacker. I'd like to thank my wife, my dad, Cody, Dylan, Sprout,Rowdy,Bean,Shooter and most of all, Smoke for giving me what it takes to be my best.
If you want to be you're best "Blow the Best" Quacker Attacker Championship Calls

Name: Aaron Kibby "AJ"
Age 37
Home: Fort Bragg NC
Aaron was introduced to hunting at the age 5 by his dad Brad Kibby. He shot his first goose at the age of 9 but had been calling geese since he was 7. Aaron cut his water fowling teeth under the guidance of his dad Brad and his hunting buddy Dick Hewitt. Upon graduating from high school Aaron joined the army and has spent the last 19 years in numerous locations around the world. During the fall he always makes it back to Michigan to hunt ducks and geese with his family and friends. Aaron is an accomplished hunter and has pursued his passion of hunting across many states and provinces of Canada. Whether it is a lay-out blind in eastern Washington, or a lay-out boat in North Carolina, you will always find a Quacker Attacker call in his hands. Aaron met Todd several years ago and was immediately impressed with the quality and life-like sound of Todd’s calls and has been using them ever since. During the fall in Michigan you can find AJ and the rest of the Quacker Attacker staff at the Allegan Todd Farm or the Ottawa Marsh. In 2005 Aaron was severely hurt in Iraq and if it had not been for the Quacker Attacker Team he would not have been able to hunt that year. AJ would especially like to thank Todd, Curt, Rod, Kenny, Kyle, and Andy for all there hard work and effort that year. Aaron is now stationed in Fort Bragg, NC with his wife Laura, daughter Samantha, and his son Hunter. He continues to serve his country and always looks forward to his hunting trips home to Michigan and spending time with his friends.

Kyle “Bean” Kempkers

For my whole life I have been in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. I have never been to school on the opening day of deer season; instead I was in a deer blind with my dad. I wasn’t introduced to waterfowl hunting until the age of 12, but it quickly became a huge part of my life. On my first youth duck hunt, I shot 6 ducks and that started an addiction for waterfowl hunting. I haven’t missed a season since.

In 2002 I started shooting competition trap with “Sprout”. Our team took first place in the state of Michigan and 9th at the nationals. In the summer of 2003 I earned 1 personal State Championship in my handicap yardage, placed second in doubles and took a 3rd in singles. That year our team took a 2nd at State and 10th at the Nationals where I shot 198 out of 200 birds.

Three years ago I became a guide for whitetail deer in Pike County IL. Although I’m gone from the middle of October through Christmas, I still hunt waterfowl every chance I get. I have waterfowl hunted in Michigan, Illinois and my favorite Texas.

After meeting Todd and learning to blow his calls, my waterfowl hunting was brought to a new level. I would not have the skills I have now if it wasn’t for Todd and his staff. I don’t have the skills to be a competition caller, but I have what it takes to call in plenty of ducks and geese. I am proud to wear Todd’s calls and be on his staff.
Thanks Todd

Nick Wellman

I live in Hopkins Michigan where I attend Hopkins Middle school. I started waterfowl hunting at the age of 7 and have been hooked ever since. I can remember having been encouraged to hunt and fish and do what I love to do. I have 4 sisters and a great mom and dad. When I’m not goose hunting I’m playing basketball and baseball. I have started competition calling this past year and have had great success winning my first goose calling contest. I have enjoyed goose hunting the most out of all the sports as it allows me to not only meet new people but also to spend time with all my friends and family. I spend most of the season with my best friend Joe chasing ducks and geese in and around Allegan County including going to Saginaw bay once or twice a year. I know that without the support of my friends and family, including Eric who drives me and Joe around scouting and hunting I wouldn’t be able to goose and duck hunt and do the other things that I enjoy.
I’d also like to thank Todd for all his advice and support the past year.
Thanks again Todd!

Nick your very welcome dude. I am truly happy to have you aboard the Team. Now

Name: Brian Grunst aka. GRUNDY
Occupation: Account Manager
Age: 30
Family: Mandi (wife), Caleb, and Natalie (children)
Home town: Hamilton, MI

I can’t think of a time in life when I didn’t hunt or fish. I started fishing with my Dad when I was 3, and tagging along rabbit hunting with my Grandpa well before I could carry a gun. I shot my first rabbit when I was 12, while hunting with my Grandpa, and my first deer at 15. I always had an interest in waterfowling, but no one I knew waterfowl hunted until I met my Father In-law. My Father In-Law introduced me to fowlin` when I was 22, and that’s the year I shot my first goose. It’s been an exciting adventure ever since. I think waterfowling is the most exciting type of hunting. Foolin em into the dekes is a straight up blast. Through the years, hunting and fishing with my Dad, and Grandpa has instilled a great sense of respect for all of God’s creation. I think the most important thing for hunters today is to show respect for the wildlife, the properties we hunt (public and private), and towards non-hunters. Our attitudes and actions while representing the “Camo Fraternity” will dictate the future of hunting in the U.S.A. The two regrets I have is that I didn’t start duck and goose hunting waaaay earlier in life, and that I didn’t discover Quacker Attacker calls waaaay earlier! My goose and duck calling sure has changed since I first went to Todd’s shop and he set me up with my first good goose call, the Warrior. Curt also took the time to show me the ropes of duck calling. Man, has all that paid off! Good calls, and practicing a lot has really led to more birds on the ground. I’ve since expanded my Quacker Attacker goose and duck call arsenal. Todd and Curt are always a great resource with their new and current calls. With the large selection of call materials, and custom shaved reeds, there’s sure to be a call to fit your style and skill level. So next time you need a new duck or goose call, do yourself a favor, get a Quacker Attacker Championship call, and get ready to watch em fall.
GOD bless, and good hunting,
Brian Grunst.

I am co-founder of Cut 'em’ Close Duck & Goose Hunts. I have been waterfowl hunting for over 15 years. I enjoy duck and goose hunting to the fullest. To me it is a year round activity that starts as the season ends. I am always on the search for new areas to hunt, constantly studying the flyways within the flyways. I contribute my success to God. He has provided us with all of his wonderful bounty from rabbits to deer. He is the true reason we are able to hunt all species of wild game. The other aspect of my success comes from scouting and having the knowledge to adapt to any situation. I enjoy the challenge of waterfowl hunting and the challenge of calling ducks and geese into effective shotgun range. Quacker Attacker Championship Calls are my first choice. They are hand made by my cousin Todd, not just turned on some machine. As a guide it gives me total reassurance that every call will withstand any elements mother nature will throw my way. Also, his calls produce the most realistic sounds I have ever heard from a call. My hat’s off to Todd for producing a quality product.

Remember to take a kid into the outdoors. Even if he or she is too young to withstand the weather conditions, I know my two boys Drake and Andrew love to scout fields with me.
